Job Description

Pixel Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Work Service Development Manager to join a Social Welfare Organisation Charity based in Yorkshire. Immediate interviews on offer! This is a permanent, full time role based on 37.5 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client as a Service Development Manager help them to develop their service provision for former coal miners and their families. This role requires someone from a strong social care service
delivery background but with a flair for development and innovation.

This role will lead on the development of services and interventions for the organisation’s personal welfare service in order to meet the needs of former coal miners, their families and wider communities and will also provide operational management oversight of the organisations social centre in Pontefract ensuring high quality operational delivery and ongoing development.

  • Responsibilities include developing service models, policy and practice to underpin new areas of delivery to ensure services achieve positive outcomes for the clients group.
  • Working alongside others in our personal welfare service you will identify gaps in provision and potential to broaden the service offer for the client base.
  • Overseeing the management of the organisations social centre based in Pontefract you will work with the Centre Coordinator to develop the service offering both within the Centre and the community, this will include managing and working within budgets for the Centre and any new initiatives.
  • This is a great opportunity to make a real impact with the services we provide for our client group and as such you will bring considerable experience of managing and developing social care services, ideally with older people and / or disability and significant experience of managing people, services and budgets at a senior level.
  • You must have experience of implementing new systems and processes and facilitating change and demonstrable experiencing of service development, design and implementation in the field of social care.
  • Experience of developing and updating policies in line with legislative changes and good practice is essential and you must be educated to degree level, ideally in social work, health or related field.
  • Knowledge of good practice, particularly in relation to older people, mental health and disability is essential along with the ability to take initiative with a practical, ‘hands on’ approach to work.
  • You will need a valid full driving licence and access to own vehicle with the flexibility to travel across a wide geographic area with occasional overnight stays.

Service Development Manager Requirements:

  • Considerable experience of managing and developing social care services, ideally with older people and / or disability.
  • Experience of managing people, services and budgets at a senior level.
  • Experience of implementing new systems and processes and facilitating change.
  • Demonstrable experiencing of service development, design and implementation in the field of social care.
  • Experience of developing and updating policies in line with legislative changes and good practice.
  • Educated to degree level, ideally in social work, health or related field.
  • Knowledge of good practice, particularly in relation to older people, mental health and disability
